Who are we: Marlene is Mom in this adventure and chief blog writer. You can learn more about me in reading my profile. Jake is my 14 year old son who will be my traveling companion on this trip. Jake will blog on the site and share the trip from his point of view.
What we are doing: We decided to take a 16 day trip to explore the Eastern Coastline of the United States. We are going to be traveling through the following states: Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont. That is 10 states in 16 days and approximately 3500 miles!
Why: First this is Mom and son bonding at its finest! I want to expose my son to travel and adventures. For me, I didn't get to fly on a plane until I was 21. Jake flew on his first flight at 3 months. I am also a huge fan of Couchsurfing.com and want to stay with folks during our journey. It would be great to experience the sights in the company of folks from the area and who love to share their homes and hearts. In documenting this trip, it is our hope that others will be inspired to venture out, explore sites and meet others. If we can do this, anyone can!
